Pleasant, including coaches getting blackballed and their teams shut down for personal reasons not related to baseball. Who else would try to goad someone into coaching a team, then stack a team with two future MLB draft picks along with the future 2011 Kiki Cuyler award winner, then discreetly ship out the ace of the "blackballed" team to the Battle Creek Bombers (only to blow out his elbow early in the season, but Stan Eldridge didn't get his team "shut down" for getting a pitcher hurt). Say what you want, but there's a reason why there's no Riverdale team in 2011. Most people are either indifferent to the situation or think Chuckie is a nice guy who's right about alot of things. Comments:I wonder what this clown would say about past years teams?? I dont think Overholser or Syrjala hit 90 on a gun, but I would not say they sucked or were washed up. They played in other leagues and excelled in those also as did players like Pickens, Mark Scheurer, Luke Carr and many many other really good players. Ionia was like 20-0 back in 2000 and won the Felch tourney. I suppose they sucked also. Comments:Actually the people that had such an issue with the quality of teams had nothing to do with the running of the GCBL. It was certain players that felt they were wasting a drive. The folks that run the league are always encouraging expansion. As for meetings at the LP's house, I have never been. Volunteers should not be criticized though. People take time away from their families to provide a baseball league in Mid Michigan. How about some Thank Yous. Thank you Rollie, Ron, Adam and Steve. Thank you team managers.

Comments:Tim you hit the nail on the head. I know guys on some of those teams and on some others and they're still playing baseball just not in the GCBL. This league seems to have more issues than the others. Plus, the other leagues are wood bat and AABC affiliated. Not governed by a group of good ole boys who gather in Rollie's pole barn. Drives are also an issue and inconsistency of the fields and facilities from place to place. Take the good from the GCBL and realize it will always have these issues by nature. It's easy to feel like and be an outsider in this league if you're not from a certain few places.

Comments:All leagues are like this. NO amateur league is really that great, errors are made and hitters are weak. That's why it's an amateur league. Great ball players go on to the pros. I respect the guys who come out here year after year and invest their time and money into preserving this great game. Unfortunately, part of what goes along with leagues like this is the politics and BS from all angles. Look at the Murphy/ CMU saga or the teams folding,etc. That's why it's an amateur league. Stuff like this happens in amateur leagues. Smith has been around long enough and been involved in enough controversy that he's gonna get called out for it form time to time. He's not the only one, but he's sure in the mix more often than not. A lot of that has to do with the way he conducts himself.

Comments:When Jon Herendeen played for Riverdale no less than 2 years ago, he was anonymously touted as one of the best in the GCBL. He defects from Riverdale, goes to Coleman (along with the rest of the Lumberjack crew who got sick of JT Jones/Rit Macdonald/CMU baseball coaching staff constant BS and harassing you know who on this forum) and now all of a sudden Mr. Herendeen sucks. Consider the sources Jon why they're not posting their names. When you can't control reality, this is what happens. It's yet another reason why Riverdale doesn't have a team. Not because the lack of interest, but the constant meddeling by folks who can't get the job done between the lines or in the dugout. Two years after these guys got Chuckie's team shut down his team in the GCBL, the worm (and the truth of the ent in the GCBL, the worm (and the truth of the entire matter) is finally turning against them at all levels of amateur baseball.

Ask anyone who really knows me and they will tell you that I could care less about being all league or receivng any other personal award. Team sport! I care about championships, that's it. If you don't win it all who cares how many games your team wins. Therefore what would be the reason for making someone look better to others than they are. I know Jason well and know that he didn't pad anyones stats. We had a few real good ballplayers on those Breckenridge teams. Comments:Its the perception that people are looking at. Eaton County was placed in the newspaper and on all of the fliers, etc. as the #1 team in the Lansing league so when NON-GCBL people show up to the game, they expected to see a much better contest. How are they to know what the REAL Eaton County team looks like? Just like when St. Louis went to Barton City in 2006 after winning the GCBL championship. How are those people to know that we didn't take our regular team? I can understand what people must think but its like someone said in our huddle before the game, "Exhibition, Scrimmage, Practice or Championship: this is St. Louis and we play the same way no matter what."

Comments:That was the same score the Midland Cobras beat the 2009 Manistee Saints @ Reitz Field of all places. Even with the CMU baseball backed/Cult of Steve Jaksa's flash mob no show tactics that Brett Haring, Mike Villano, J.T. Jones and Rit MacDonald put to use, still got 10 players to show up despite the efforts. Manistee didn't care, they wanted a rematch in the GCBL Championship game (the game everyone wanted to see except those who couldn't stand to see Chuckie have success despite the Cult's effort to embarrass him.) And now even some ex-Lumberjacks are taking potshots at this crew publically (Colton Loomis/Midland Daily News.) What ya gonna do now? Shut down Berryhill because of LIES? Get on the phone Rit and make that phone call to the NU AD whining like a little beach. Your crew is the liars, whining to everyone within earshot about Chuckie not moving on. He doesn't have to because your censorships tactics speak alot. It's why Riverdale can't get a sponsor.

Or how about last years "all star" game that Dan put many hours into and not enough players showed to make 2 teams? Thanks to Josh and the players that showed so the game could take place.

Comments:Yo, relax. I can see where maybe one of my everyday players took offense to this, but it was an exhibition game. No, we didn't send an impressive lineup at all to the game, but it was the only one we could get together. You would never see this lineup in one of our city league games, in fact, you'd only see 4 players who played on Saturday. Yes, St Louis destroyed us and I did coach the game, even played in it which is rare but was necessary. But that wasn't our real team. IT was supposed to a fun exhibition game, leave it at that.

The truth was everyone on the Outlaws #1 team had better things to do so we did, that game meant nothing.
